As a sole trader or sole shareholder, you can, for a high-risk or adult merchant account, use a personal bank account by including your own name and the name of your business in the following fashion: “John Smith trading as JS Electrical Services”, or “Sarah Jones trading as Pet Health Industries”. In this case, your personal name will be included on customers’ credit card statements by default, but this can be altered for some high-risk and adult accounts to ensure maximum safety and discretion.
